This well-established and highly successful practice enjoys an excellent reputation in the niche area of Health and Social Welfare.

A new opportunity has arisen within the team, which presents an enviable career move.  The person appointed will be focusing on a range of quality instructions and advising on:

•    Mental Capacity issues
•    Court of Protection (Health & Welfare)
•    Human Rights issues such as refusal, consent to treatment and care standards.
•    Inquests & Judicial Reviews
•    Ombudsman investigations
•    Public Law responsibilities and Regulatory obligations concerning provision of Health and Social Care

Experience in all areas is not essential, but experience in Court of Protection proceedings and working knowledge of relevant legislation (particularly Mental Capacity Act 2005, Liberty Protection Reforms and Mental Health Act 1983) is required.

Whilst you will manage your own caseload where appropriate, the team is often instructed on complex, often high profile, cases requiring a team based approach.  It is anticipated that the nature of the role will appeal to an associate solicitor or CILEX with circa 2-5 yrs' specialist PQE.

The firm as a whole is recognised for its progressive outlook and supportive approach.   As well as paying excellent salaries, there is a comprehensive and flexible benefits package, which you can tailor to suit requirements. Agile and flexible working is promoted.  You will also find a wide programme of CSR, pro-bono and charitable activities as well a busy calendar of social, leisure and sporting activities.

Actis Legal specialises in the North West legal market and with such a detailed knowledge of the region, we are able to provide tailored and bespoke advice to individuals we act for and identify suitable career moves.  All enquiries treated in the strictest of confidence.

** Please note that references to post qualification experience (PQE) are given as a guideline to the competences required for technical, client and case management skills, as well as budgeted salary for the role. We encourage you to apply for any job for which you feel you are a suitable candidate.
